The admission process starts every year from June 14th for both Elementary and Advance Course. Applications are accepted both online and offline with relevant documents and Admission Fee. Applicants would be scrutinized for the pre-admission test and the selected candidates are admitted to the appropriate training course purely on the basis of merit and availability of seats.
Students selected for admission are required to complete all formalities related to admission by:

The received application forms are thoroughly scrutinized, and eligible applicants will be considered for the Pre-Admission Test as per the New Admission Schedule.

The selected candidates are admitted to the appropriate training course purely on the basis of merit and availability of seats. Admission Test results are declared as per the dates in New Admission Schedule.

The results are displayed on the Notice Boards of the Kendra and can also accessed on Kendra’s website www.kathakkendra.in

The Admission Form must duly accompany with a Medical Fitness Certificate from a M.B.B.S. doctor, certifying that he/she is physically and mentally fit.
Entry Level Requirements for National & Foreign Students
Elementary Course
The Elementary Course consist of:

Foundation Course (5 years) - Kathak Dance

Diploma Pass Course (3 years) - Kathak Dance
These courses channelise the talent and interest in youngsters towards a serious study of an art form. It further equips the learner with a strong foundation required to study Kathak at a professional level in the Advanced courses. These classes are held thrice a week from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Advanced Course
The Advanced Course consist of:

Diploma Honours Course (3 years) - Kathak Dance

Post Diploma Course (2 years) - Kathak Dance

Certificate Course (1 year)
- Music Course (Tabla/Pakhawaj/ Vocal/Sarangi)

Diploma Special Course (3 years)
- Music Course (Tabla/Pakhawaj/Vocal/Sarangi)
These courses are designed with an intent to create an accomplished exponent, whose art is well supported by an in-depth understanding of music, theoretical studies and Yoga. A full time engagement is mandatory for the students who pursue the Advanced Courses. The daily dance classes, along with the regular classes in allied subjects such as Hindustani Gayan, Theory, Yoga and Tabla/Pakhawaj are conducted between 8 am to 5 pm (except second Saturday) at Kathak Kendra.
All classes in all courses in the Kendra include live music accompaniment on Tabla, Sarangi and Hindustani Gayan throughout the year. A well designed yearly programme of workshops, seminars and edu-cultural trips and field visits further complement the training in the daily classes.
Admission for Foreign Students
Foreign nationals who are keen to have training in Kathak Dance and Music at Kathak Kendra, may seek admission in the courses run by the Kathak Kendra on the following terms and conditions:

The candidates has to apply through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi for admission in the trainng courses being run by the Kathak Kendra.

No direct applications will be entertained.

The candidate should be below 40 years of age.

He/she should have atleast 3 years of training in Kathak Dance and Music.
